According to Hindu Dharam Shastras Ganesh Poojan is required before performing any auspicious work. Pleased with this, Ganesha makes all work unviable. The simple method of Ganesh Pujan that you can easily do at home by yourself.
Early in the morning, after taking bath and wearing clean clothes Ganesh Pujan should be done.
Ganesh Pujan Sankalp
Take the sankalp before starting Ganapati Puja. Take the water, flowers and rice in the right hand and Speak your wish in the sankalp, saying the name of day, year, the place and your name. Now leave the water taken in the hands on the ground.
Ganesh Pujan Vidhi In English
Take water in the palm of your left hand and Sprinkle water with right hand on your own and pujan samagri speaking following mantras –
ॐ अपवित्रः पवित्रो वा सर्वावस्था गतोsपि वा l
या स्मरेत पुण्डरीकाक्षं स बाह्रामायंतर: शुचि: ll
First of all, put a red cloth on the chowki and put a statue of Ganesh Ji on it
Lit ghee lamp with reverence devotion.
Burn Incense sticks and dhoopbatti
Establish water-filled Kalash
Now take water, akshat and flowers in hand and do avahan (call) of Lord ganesha chanting following mantra
ॐ सुमुखश्चैकदन्तश्च कपिलो गजकर्णकः.
लम्बोदरश्च विकटो विघ्ननाशो विनायकः॥
धूम्रकेतुर्गणाध्यक्षो भालचन्द्रो गजाननः.
द्वादशैतानि नामानि यः पठेच्छृणुयादपि॥
विद्यारम्भे विवाहे च प्रवेशे निर्गमे तथा.
संग्रामे संकटे चैव विघ्नस्तस्य न जायते॥
Devote Akshat and flower to Ganesh ji
Now give a bath to Ganesh Idol with water, raw milk and Panchamrit
Offer new clothes and ornaments to Ganesha
Offer Roli / Kunku, Akshat, vermilion, Perfume, Durva, Flower and Garland
Show Lamp and Dhoop
Modak is most dear to Ganesha. Therefore offer modak, sweets, jaggery and fruits as Naivaidya.

After the aarti do parikrama and give Puspanjali
After Ganesh Puja, for some mistakes in worship due to ignorance , join hands in front of Lord Ganesha and ask forgiveness chanting the following mantra
- मन्त्रहीनं क्रियाहीनं भक्तिहीनं सुरेश्वरं l यत पूजितं मया देव, परिपूर्ण तदस्त्वैमेव l
आवाहनं न जानामि, न जानामि विसर्जनं l पूजा चैव न जानामि, क्षमस्व परमेश्वरं l
